The students, who did choreography to songs such as Barbie Girl by Aqua and Bye Bye Bye by Nsync, had only two days of class to prepare for the flash mob. Despite problems with audio equipment, the class managed to perform for those in the general vicinity. The class wore all black outfits, with two students wearing blue and pink to stand out from the class. As they performed, students in the nearby area watched, some even recording on their phones.
Eric Steitz, 19, psychology major, said at first he was apprehensive about doing it.
“The lead up [to the performance] made me nervous,” said Steitz, but after they started, he enjoyed himself.
David Tavera, 27, political science major, said he was also nervous but enjoyed the experience overall.
“I was really nervous, I am by no means a dancer, I usually need a drink to do that kind of stuff,” said Tavera. “[But] I would do it again.”
Taylor Clark, 19, nursing major was one of the two students who initiated the performance. “It was a lot of fun,” said Clark. “I would do it again.”
Joshua Erickson, 20, was another one of the students who started off the performance and described the performance as a great experience. “As a class I think it was really team building,” said Erickson. “We were all embarrassed; it was great bonding.”
