Students, faculty, and education protection activists rallied yesterday at the Free Speech Area in protest of budget cuts, furloughs, layoffs, and tuition hikes.

Finals Frenzy Study Hall Starts Today
Student Life and Associated Students will be hosting Finals Frenzy Study Hall in Bldg. 9C from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m Monday through Wednesday.

Journalism students win big at journalism conference
The Journalism students won an astounding 52 awards at the Journalism Association of Community Colleges (JACC) Southern California Convention at CSU Fullerton on October 23-24.
This is the second consecutive year that the Mountaineer newspaper and Substance magazine won the General Excellence award, the top award given to publications at the Southern California convention.

Extended Opportunity Programs and Services, or EOPS, celebrated 40 yrs of providing services to academically and financially disadvantaged students, on Wed., Oct. 28 at the Student Life Center.

Join-A-Club opens today
The Fall 2009 Join-A-Club will be held on September 22-24 from 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at the student center (9C) patio.
