On May 23 at about 4:30 p.m., Stacy Bacigalupi, professor of psychology, suffered a back injury while teaching a class and was unable to move. Public safety officers, along with fire and medical personnel, responded to the situation and took her to a hospital.
Bacigalupi returned to teaching on May 29. She told students that her injury was the result of “throwing [her] back out.” MSN Health says that such injuries are most commonly the result of muscle spasms or injured ligaments.
