In a room with brightly colored décor, people huddled around casino tables, played black jack, roulette, and enjoyed the atmosphere at Mt. SAC’s 5th annual, Monte Carlo Night, held at the Diamond Bar Center, last Friday.
Monte Carlo provided dinner, entertainment, live music for patrons and raffle tickets to win prizes. The event was held for supporting patrons to give back to Mt. SAC students, providing students opportunities with scholarships and ways for students to continue their education. It was an event that welcomed everyone to participate and provided an opportunity to be involved with Mt. SAC’s community.
“The foundation is a non-profit organization that exclusively supports the college with scholarships, capital campaigns and campus projects,” Richard Morley, the director of the Mt. SAC Foundation, said.
An e-mail list of 20,000 was sent out, along with Internet advertising to help promote this event.
“It’s a great opportunity to give your talents,” Patricia Garvito, the coordinator, said.
“It’s a great turn out,” Brandy White, AS president said. Students are encouraged to apply for scholarships and go to the Financial Aide Office.
“Most students do not apply because they don’t think their chances are so high, but there are scholarships out for everyone.” White said.
