Known for his creative lyrics, smooth rhythms, and poetic style, today’s newest addition to the world of Hip Hop released his first record, The Introduction Mixtape on Sept. 1.
Tyrone Stokes, also known as Lyrically Twisted (LT), is a fifth year communications major at Cal Poly Pomona who is pursuing a career as a recording artist for the Hip-Hop music industry.
LT is well known in the local scene in and around his hometown of Pomona, Calif. He brings this all together with potent, meaningful ideas over music to bring a fresh new style of Hip-Hop.
While much of current Hip-Hop and rap focuses on money, gang banging, and degrading women, LT focuses on positive messages, inspiration, and even love, which is something almost unheard of in today’s modern era of Hip-Hop.
“I want to give my listeners pure original hip-hop rhythms and rhyme schemes that, at the same time, contain positive and inspirational significance,” said LT.
The goal of LT’s mixtape is to introduce his upcoming album, set to release early next year, entitled The New Generation of Hip Hop. Anticipate hearing a lot more of this upcoming artist as he attempts to change the negative connotations of Hip-Hop Music into something more positive to listen to.
