After decades of unresolved health care reform issues, a solution has been reached. As of March 20, The House of Representatives passed a historic health care reform bill, changing the aspect of health care in America forever.

President Obama’s purposed health care bill passed by a slim margin, 219-212, and was opposed by both Republicans and Democrats.
According to CNN.com, “All 177 Republicans opposed it, along with 34 Democrats.”

As of today, President Obama signed the bill into law, meaning that many Americans will see change immediately.

The Los Angeles Times reported that the health care legislation reform bill affects over 30 million uninsured people in America. It will be required for most American citizens to be insured, or face a monetary penalty. The bill will also allow citizens with pre-existing conditions access to insurance.

President Obama voiced his opinion about the successful passage of the health care reform legislation to The Los Angeles Times.

“Today, after almost a century of trying, today, after over a year of debate, today, after all the votes have been tallied, healthcare insurance reform becomes law in the United States of America.”
