Your reporters really shouldn’t be writing articles based on theories of what happened . Also, an assaulter can be anyone; it’s not like one’s going to have a huge notice on his head that he wants to attack a girl. Naming a girl not even involved in the situation to comment on such nonsense is preposterous as well; public safety is not responsible to be the town crier-they have enough shit to worry about. Maybe the victim was uncomfortable with anonymous people distributing her information to thousands of people across her campus. If you need fillers, you can always write about bringing pepper spray around, rather than putting an empty opinion.
Thanks, for your shallow consideration.

The Higher One card is a rip-off that is being forced upon us students as if we were babies being forced to eat our veggies and what not. The school seems to think that they know what is best for us, but do they really? We are being spoon fed fees for making debit purchases at .50 a pop (so try to remember to enter credit, even though this is a debit purchase kinda world), $24.00 for a stop payment fee, a $5.00 fee for copies of statements (first one is free, whooptie-doo), $2.50 cents a pop for using a non-higher one ATM, $29.00 fee for the first insufficient funds ‘whoopsie’ and then $38.00 thereafter (which is way more then my personal bank charges believe it or not and from what I’ve read this can happen very easily because it takes things a long time to process when using this silly card), oh and don’t loose your card, because that will cost you $20.00 and if you don’t provide the documentation they ask for within the allotted time they give you be ready because they will be taking $50.00 from you, so forget about buying those supplies you need, that gas for the week to get to classes, and so on.
If we choose to receive our funds in a timely fashion and opt for the “easy refund” then it is made very clear, very fast, that it is not so ‘easy’ and we find that in fact we are limited on how we spend, how much we spend, and how much we can take out of an ATM and it also limits us to either pay the fee to use a local banks ATM or drive the 55+ miles (or however many miles it is for you) to campus to use one of the so called “free” ATM’s. Also, if you choose the easy refund option and then decide to wire money to your personal checking account you have to pay a $25.00 fee to do so, and as a poor student (insert sarcasm here) I can really afford to just blow $25.00 to send MY money to MYSELF. If students such as myself opt for the ACH and have the funds sent to our personal bank accounts it is not so quick, fast, and easy. As of today it has been a week since my portal zeroed out, and I still am waiting. If this were the “old way of doing things on campus” I would have opened my mailbox today to find a check that I could walk right into B of A with and cash and go buy those books I need and so on. Apparently, higher one received my money at 6am this morning then this afternoon sent my money to another bank, or as they call it the Federal Reserve, so this other institution can direct deposit my money into my personal bank account *(%#@#%*% (that was my mind being blown form the sheer stupidity of all this). So, explain to me why it is that a company that has the capability to send your money anywhere they like as soon as they receive it from your school sends it to a third-party agency instead of directly into your personal checking account? Anyone else getting my point? Why is this not a hot-button issue on campus? Are students really jaded by the “get our money the same day the school releases it” spoonful of crap they are being served? Why doesn’t such a forward progressive school such a Mt. SAC not just offer in-house direct deposit and save students like myself who are poor and struggling, all the fees, hassles, headaches, and waiting-waiting-waiting?
*&$@)($%&……..that is the sound of profanity, because I don’t like being taken advantage of..!
Sincerely,
An extremely disappointed and frustrated student…..
