Chemicals toxic to toddlers’ brains

I strongly oppose psychological prescription medications given to toddlers. Toddlers are known for their genuine curiosity, energy, and at times, their over whelming behavior. It is absolutely absurd to diagnose a 3 year old with a mental illness such as anxiety, ADD or bipolar disorder.

Yes kids act out but that is what kids do when they are frustrated. It is the responsibility of the parents to discipline their children and teach them how to behave. But instead, medications such as Risperdal, Dexedrine, and Ritalin are the prescribed “solution” for these kids.

If only parents knew what these chemicals do to the fragile developing brain of a toddler.

According to erowid.org, Ritalin and Dexedrine are related to meth and amphetamines. It was disturbing to discover Dexedrine, a medication used to treat ADD, has 6.3mg of what is known as speed.

Another fact parents are unaware of is none of is the FDA never tested antipsychotics on children. All of the research was done on adults. So basically physicians are guessing at what dosage level they should prescribe.

With the current insurance issues and economy, what were to happen if all these children have to be taken off their medications? There are withdrawals and the returning of symptoms because they were never allowed to understand, heal and accept the changes of life.

Psychiatric drugs provide an easy way to skip over mental obstacles. For a child to grow and learn, they have to have parents that are patient enough to help guide them through their life, not parents who cannot handle their own children.
