The health fair will be held in building 67B and the courtyard. The health fair will include free screenings, information and gifts.
According to their website on mtsac.edu, “The Student Health Center helps keep students physically and emotionally healthy so they can perform at their best. Professionals available include physicians, nurse practitioners, chiropractors, counselors, nurses, health education, and clerical support staff. These professionals evaluate and treat minor, temporary physical and emotional conditions that require short term care”.
There are no additional fees required and anybody with a Mt. SAC I.D. can make use of these resources.
“The Student Health Fair is an event that Student Health Services holds every year,” said Melissa Miranda Egan, health promotion specialist. “It’s pretty much to get the student population to know what kind of health services are out there or even here in the Student Health Center.
Egan said that several health services would be setting up tables in the courtyard in front of 67B, offering students free services, information and even gifts such as fresh fruit and condoms.
Various services will be available the day of the fair, including cholesterol, blood sugar and body fat testing. Along with dental, spinal and blood pressure check.
The health fair will also offer students the chance to talk to professions on STI’s, cancer, fitness, nutrition, chiropractic care and many other topics.
For more information, questions, comments or concerns students can contact the Student Health Cervices at (909) 594-5611 at ext. 4400.
