Energy drink activated on campus

Campus convenient stores are now offering a new health drink, Activate, which was promoted on campus by representatives for Activate. They promoted their new drink by handing out bottles of the energy drink, April 28.
Activate representative, Krista Kalmus, 27, said the drink is better than other energy drinks, such as vitamin water.
“All the vitamins are hidden in the lid,” Kalmus said. “They keep them separate because when water and vitamins are mixed together already, they lose their potency. This way they’re fresh vitamins.”
The drink’s vitamins and herbs are stored as powder inside the cap, and when the cap is twisted clockwise, the ingredients drop into the water below, Kalmus said..
According to the activate website, the drink provides nutritious elements: “Activate provides a potent dose of vitamins and minerals that the body needs to stay healthy. There are no preservatives or sugar and Activate is low-cal – only 5 calories for an entire bottle.”
Students lined up to get a free bottle of the new drink.
“I tried the energy one and the immunity one,” Krysha Valentine, 21, undecided major said. “It’s good and not overpowering. If they were available at the quick stop for $2, then I would buy it. It’s a good price compared to Monster.”
Another student who tried the drink, Benjamin Rafaman, 19, medicine major, said: “I tried the lemon lime, the Activate energy drink. I think it’s alright. I would probably buy it if it were available at another store. “It’s got a really good flavor. I’m looking at the ingredients, but it seems like it has a lot of good vitamins.”
The drinks are now available at all the campus convenient stores for $2.
